Job Requirements
- High school or equivalent education
- prior server and bartender experience preferred
- TIPS certification required or must obtain within 60 days of hire
- ability to stoop, reach, walk and stand for long periods
- able to lift boxes weighing up to 50 pounds
- speak clearly and distinctly
- maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance
- work flexible hours including weekends, holidays, evenings and overtime as necessary
- ability to maintain confidentiality
- no smoking or eating in the work area
- pass background check and pre-employment drug test
Job Qualifications
- High school or equivalent education required
- prior server and bartender experience preferred
- needs to be TIPS certified or receive certification within 60 days of hire date
- good communication skills, both verbal and written
- exceptional organizational skills
- ability to handle fast paced business
- ability to work independently with little or no supervision
- knowledge of various food service styles such as French, Russian, Butler style service
Job Duties
- Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies, service procedures, standards
- able to read and understand a BEO with all details and notes
- anticipate guests’ needs, respond promptly, and acknowledge all guests
- maintain positive guest relations at all times
- be familiar with all hotel services, features and local attractions, activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately
- monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned work areas
- maintain complete knowledge of service requirements for assigned function including pre-function side work, detailed menu selections, major ingredients, appearance, texture, quality standards, garnish, and method of presentation, particular characteristics and description of wines and champagne ordered, prices for specified bar selections on cash bars, station assignment and table set-up, group name, type of function and expected attendance, scheduled hours of service, special requests and arrangements, order of service, traffic flow in room
- TIPS certified or receive certification within 60 days of hire date and maintain knowledge of state liquor regulations
- complete pre-function side work as assigned
- greet guests as they arrive and assist them with seating at tables
- serve all food courses and non-alcoholic beverages according to function requirements
- clear each course following procedures
- remove all tabletop items, linen and equipment from function room as designated
- set up, monitor, refresh and breakdown coffee breaks, receptions, and buffet tables for specified functions
- complete closing side duties including breakdown of all goods, cleaning all equipment, restocking items, properly storing reusable goods, removing dirty linens to laundry, marrying and stocking condiments, securing storage areas
- use Point of Sales and adhere to payment, cash handling and credit policies
- assist Banquet Houseman with room set-ups as assigned
