Job Requirements

  • High school or equivalent education
  • prior server and bartender experience preferred
  • TIPS certified or able to obtain within 60 days
  • maintain neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance
  • ability to stoop, reach, walk and stand for long periods
  • ability to lift boxes up to 50 lbs
  • speak clearly and distinctly
  • work flexible hours including weekends, holidays, evenings, and overtime
  • knowledge of health codes and requirements
  • ability to maintain confidentiality
  • no smoking or eating in work area

Job Qualifications

  • High school or equivalent education required
  • prior server and bartender experience preferred
  • TIPS certified or willing to obtain certification within 60 days
  • good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • exceptional organizational skills
  • ability to work independently with little or no supervision
  • knowledge of various food service styles (French, Russian, Butler styles)

Job Duties

  • Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards
  • able to read and understand a BEO with all details and notes
  • anticipate guests' needs, respond promptly, and acknowledge all guests
  • maintain positive guest relations at all times
  • be familiar with all hotel services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately
  • monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned work areas
  • maintain complete knowledge of service requirements for assigned function including pre-function side work, menu selections, ingredients, presentation, wines and champagne descriptions, bar prices, station assignments, group details, scheduled hours, special requests, order of service, and room traffic flow
  • be TIPS certified or obtain certification within 60 days of hire
  • complete pre-function side work as assigned
  • greet guests and assist with seating
  • serve food courses and non-alcoholic beverages per function requirements
  • clear each course following procedures
  • remove all tabletop items, linen, and equipment as designated
  • set up, monitor, refresh and breakdown coffee breaks, receptions, and buffet tables
  • complete closing side duties including breakdown, cleaning, restocking, proper storage, linen removal, condiment stocking, and securing storage areas
  • use Point of Sales and adhere to payment, cash handling, and credit policies
  • assist Banquet Houseman with room set-ups as assigned
