Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous banquet or food service experience preferred
  • ability to read and understand banquet event orders and menus
  • excellent customer service skills
  • strong communication skills
  • ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
  • physically capable of standing for extended periods and lifting up to 25 pounds
  • willing to follow company policies and procedures
  • ability to handle money responsibly

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous experience in banquet or food and beverage service preferred
  • ability to read and interpret Banquet Event Orders (BEO)
  • strong customer service and communication skills
  • ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • knowledge of suggestive selling techniques
  • basic math skills for handling money transactions
  • physical ability to stand for long periods and lift moderate weights

Job Duties

  • Be attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous to guests, managers, and fellow employees
  • perform preparatory tasks and side work to ensure prompt and efficient service
  • read and understand the Banquet Event Order (BEO) and menu for assigned functions
  • serve guests according to hotel standards in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner
  • respond to guest problems, complaints, and accidents and communicate to management if necessary
  • set all tables according to hotel standards
  • maintain the banquet storeroom neatly and stocked with necessary supplies
  • clean up banquet spaces after functions and store equipment and supplies properly
  • prepare rooms according to BEO and meal functions
  • follow all money handling procedures when serving guests
  • use suggestive selling techniques
  • know menu items for each function and provide accurate descriptions
  • ensure overall guest satisfaction
