Job Requirements

  • Minimum 18 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages
  • One year experience as a restaurant or banquet food server
  • Valid food handling certificate
  • Fluency in English both verbal and non-verbal
  • Ability to provide legible communication
  • Basic arithmetic skills
  • Ability to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed, and accuracy
  • Ability to prioritize and organize
  • Ability to remain calm and resolve problems using good judgement
  • Ability to follow directions thoroughly
  • Understanding guest service needs
  • Ability to work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent hotel data
  • Physical ability to transport 25 to 50 pounds
  • Ability to endure various physical movements and remain in stationary positions for extended periods
  • Legal eligibility to work in the United States

Job Qualifications

  • Knowledge of various food service styles such as French, Russian, tableside flambe, and Butler service
  • High school graduate or equivalent vocational training certificate
  • Certification in liquor, wine, and food service
  • Previous culinary training
  • Knowledge of room set-up styles
  • Fluency in a foreign language, preferably Spanish
  • Certification in alcoholic awareness programs
  • Certification in CPR
  • Ability to suggestively sell
  • Previous guest relations training

Job Duties

  • Set up assigned tables according to hotel specifications and group requirements
  • Retrieve and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to guest tables courteously and efficiently
  • Serve food orders to guest tables ensuring high service standards
  • Take beverage orders and collect payments where specified
  • Maintain cleanliness and condition of work areas and equipment
  • Work cohesively with team members and assist in all banquet service tasks
  • Follow all safety and food handling procedures diligently
