Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 18 years of age
  • TIPS training certification within 60 days
  • Fluency in English both verbal and written
  • Ability to communicate legibly
  • Ability to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy
  • Ability to prioritize and organize
  • Ability to remain calm and resolve problems using good judgment
  • Ability to follow directions thoroughly

  • Ability to bend squat and reach on a constant basis

  • Knowledge of various food service styles like French service, Russian service, Butler style
  • High school graduate or equivalent vocational training certificate preferred
  • 1 year experience as a banquet food server preferred
  • Certification of previous training in liquor, wine and food service preferred
  • Knowledge of specific room set-up styles preferred
  • Fluency in a foreign language, preferably Spanish preferred
  • Certification in an alcoholic awareness program preferred
  • Ability to suggestively sell preferred
  • Previous guest relations training preferred

Job Duties

  • Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies, service procedures and standards
  • Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment
  • Anticipate guests' needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests
  • Maintain positive guest relations at all times
  • Be familiar with all hotel services/features and local attractions/activities
  • Resolve guest complaints ensuring guest satisfaction
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas
  • Maintain knowledge of service requirements for assigned functions including side work, menu details, wine/champagne characteristics, prices, station assignments, group details, scheduled hours, special arrangements, order of service and VIPs
  • Abide by state liquor regulations
  • Complete pre-function side work
  • Greet guests and assist with seating
  • Take and record guests' alcoholic beverage orders using suggestive selling
  • Serve beverages and food courses
  • Clear courses and remove tabletop items
  • Manage coffee breaks, receptions, and buffet tables
  • Complete closing duties including cleaning, restocking, storing goods, and securing areas
  • Adhere to payment, cash handling and credit policies
  • Certified in TIPS Training within 60 days of employment
  • Follow maintenance program and cleaning schedule
  • Assist on other functions as assigned
  • Aid Banquet Set Up Housepersons with room setups
  • Document maintenance needs
  • Attend meetings as scheduled
