Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) desired but not essential
  • previous related experience in food service supervision, hospitality, or banquet service strongly preferred
  • completed food service training within 14 days of hire
  • completed essential training and certifications including CPR within 30 days of hire
  • ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • ability to lift approximately 25 pounds overhead
  • maintain professional and properly uniformed appearance with hotel issued and employee provided items
  • comply with health department and hotel standards
  • good communication skills
  • punctuality and excellent attendance
  • ability to stand, walk, carry, stoop, kneel, crouch, and perform repetitive movements during shifts
  • ability to work safely around hot and sharp objects
  • ability to maintain focus and attentiveness for extended periods

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) desired but not essential
  • previous related experience in food service supervision, hospitality, or banquet service strongly preferred
  • knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
  • ability to work well with other team members and departments
  • effective communication skills with guests and clients using courtesy, tact, and diplomacy
  • ability to read and write English and perform basic math computations
  • ability to remain calm and organized under multiple demands
  • ability to give and follow directions accurately
  • knowledge of basic ABC laws and CARE certification preferred

Job Duties

  • Complete all food service training within 14 days of hire
  • read and understand banquet event orders in detail
  • organize scheduled staff to perform necessary tasks
  • monitor timeliness of food and beverage service as specified by BEO
  • set up event areas to ensure readiness 15 minutes before event start
  • demonstrate attentiveness and responsiveness to guests' needs
  • maintain excellent guest and team member relations
  • understand safe handling of food, beverage, and service equipment
  • complete all assigned pre- and post-event tasks
  • ensure safe and correct storage of equipment
  • maintain beverage stations
  • meet flexible scheduled hours and demonstrate punctuality
  • assist in other hotel work areas as instructed
  • report maintenance needs
  • participate in training and meetings to enhance skills
  • maintain professional uniform appearance
  • follow health department and hotel standards
