Job Requirements

  • Must be 18 or older
  • high school diploma or GED required
  • current ServeSafe certification required
  • minimum two years serving experience
  • ability to lift 25 lbs to waist
  • ability to stand for long hours
  • able to move around facility regularly
  • good communication skills
  • ability to follow directions
  • maintain grooming and dress code standards

Job Duties

  • Follow through with the proper and timely set-up and execution of banquet events
  • set up tables and chairs
  • inspect linen, silver, and china prior to use
  • maintain a high degree of professionalism
  • maintain equipment and facilities in an organized, clean, safe environment
  • review Banquet Event Orders at the beginning of each shift to ensure rooms are set as contracted
  • communicate with lead catering staff regarding special needs
  • assist in ensuring events are on time
  • pass needed information to the next staff member on duty
  • maintain high standards of safety and cleanliness in all areas
  • communicate guest needs, problems, and concerns to Food & Beverage Manager
  • maintain proper dining experience by delivering items, fulfilling customer needs, removing courses, replenishing utensils, refilling glasses
  • deliver alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks
  • properly open and pour wine at tableside
  • perform basic cleaning tasks as directed by supervisor
  • greet all guests warmly
  • adhere to grooming and appearance standards
  • understand and communicate products and services available at the convention center
