Job Requirements

  • Strong problem-solving and reasoning skills
  • ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • ability to navigate necessary software and applications
  • ability to comply with local laws regarding food handling or serving of alcohol
  • ability to take and pass the ServSafe Alcohol Safety class and exam
  • must be able to work in extreme temperatures including freezers and kitchens
  • ability to lift and transport items weighing up to 50 pounds regularly and move carts or equipment up to 250 pounds occasionally
  • ability to remain mobile for up to 8 hours
  • ability to maneuver in tight spaces and position oneself to fulfill cleaning tasks

Job Qualifications

  • A high school or equivalent education is preferred
  • minimum of six months of prior food service experience is preferred
  • must be at the minimum age to serve alcohol in line with local legislative requirements
  • ability to communicate effectively in the primary language used in the workplace
  • knowledge of table service standards and appropriate table settings
  • knowledge of menu items and methods of preparation
  • ability to comply with local laws regarding food handling and alcohol service
  • basic reading, writing, and math skills

Job Duties

  • Serve food and beverages using established hotel standards
  • set up for events including place settings, decor, buffet lines, table linens, tables, and chairs
  • complete all IHG and hotel training
  • monitor guest behavior and alcohol consumption to determine when alcohol service should cease
  • check identification of guests appearing to be under 40 years of age
  • notify management of incidents involving excessive alcohol consumption or impaired guests
  • clean and maintain workspace including back hall, carts, storage closets, and event space
  • engage with guests and colleagues using D.A.R.E. to Connect behaviors
  • follow hotel safety protocols and report any safety or service incidents
  • perform additional duties as necessary and assigned
