Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in banquet or food service preferred but not required
  • Ability to work flexible and varying schedules
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to comply with hotel rules and regulations
  • Physical ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds
  • Willingness to work in an on-call position

Job Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparations, service standards, guest relations and etiquette
  • Knowledge of appropriate table settings and service ware
  • Basic knowledge of English sufficient to understand customer inquiries and communicate simple instructions
  • Ability to comprehend and apply written product labeling instructions
  • Ability to remember, recite and promote menu items
  • Ability to transport up to 30 pounds continuously during shift
  • Ability to operate beverage equipment such as coffee makers and rolling carts

Job Duties

  • Set up banquet room as instructed by banquet captain to include linen, service-ware and glassware
  • Attend roll call meetings before events to learn function particulars, including guest and hotel expectations
  • Greet guests and respond to requests in a friendly and courteous manner
  • Serve food and/or beverages in an order and to the expectation of the banquet captain to ensure consistency
  • Promptly bus dishes as guests complete each course and/or meal
  • Replenish beverages as necessary and check with guests for overall satisfaction
  • Reset banquet room according to captain's specifications after event completion
