Job Requirements

  • Part-time hourly employment
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • At least one year of banquet or restaurant serving experience required
  • Must be able to pass background and credit checks
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Must be able to stand for long periods
  • Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds unaided
  • Non-slip shoes required
  • Ability to follow food safety guidelines including HACCP
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English
  • Ability to work with limited supervision
  • Must be able to obtain ABO Card and LATC Permit
  • Ability to operate cash register and card transaction machines
  • Must maintain grooming standards and professional appearance
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including balancing trays and working under event conditions

Job Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Ability to read signs and follow simple oral and written instructions
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to pass a background check including credit history report
  • Experience of at least one year as a server in banquets, restaurants with banquet facilities, or hotels
  • Experience with upscale dining environments preferred
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Knowledge of Banquet Event Orders preferred
  • Must be able to obtain ABO Card and LATC Permit
  • Ability to use and maintain basic food service and kitchen equipment
  • Ability to train others in equipment use
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English
  • Ability to interact with all levels of staff
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Ability to work with limited supervision

Job Duties

  • Report to work in proper uniform according to the scheduled time
  • Follow instructions for each event as given by managers and captains of Food & Beverage
  • Operate card transaction machine
  • Assist with collecting, polishing, and setting up banquet equipment including flatware, china, glassware, tables, chairs, and linens
  • Serve alcohol under ASM Global SAVOR Safe guidelines
  • Work in banquet catering and concessions events
  • Assist with beverages, bread, and condiments
  • Assist with cleaning all banquet equipment including salt and pepper shakers and condiment containers
  • Prepare and set up event rooms and dishing areas
  • Set tables with place settings and build buffets as instructed
  • Attend pre-function meetings for event briefings
  • Provide friendly and courteous customer service
  • Remain at assigned station and perform duties according to event requirements
  • Report customer service issues or complaints to supervisors
  • Clean and return serving pieces to storage
  • Adhere to grooming standards and company policies
  • Follow service standards, procedures, and guidelines
  • Deliver, set up, service, and break down equipment and food and beverage items
  • Perform deep cleaning as assigned
  • Clean banquet wares efficiently and safely
  • Remove debris and trash after events following proper disposal methods
  • Sanitize equipment properly
  • Perform quick counting and simple arithmetic
  • Follow all food safety instructions including HACCP and Food Code
  • Work efficiently with production schedules
  • Provide high-quality service to guests and coworkers
  • Train and supervise temporary employees
  • Assist with opening, closing, and inventory counts
  • Organize and maintain wares storage areas
  • Set up and break down stations and complete side work
  • Maintain sanitizer buckets
  • Ensure proper wrapping, labeling, and dating of products
  • Operate coffee, tea, and bar equipment safely
  • Keep work area clean and organized
  • Practice FIFO for all products
  • Participate in event briefing meetings
  • Perform skilled labor as assigned
  • Lead by example with a polite and can-do attitude
  • Follow proper accident reporting procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned
