High school diploma or GED preferred
previous banquet server experience preferred
ability to follow directions and get along well with others
must be TIPS, CARE or equivalent certified or obtain certification by first day on the job

Job Duties

Review and understand banquet event order (BEO)
complete setup according to BEO
set tables correctly with clean linen, silverware, china, and glassware
learn the menu and explain major ingredients and preparation methods
be present at assigned station 15 minutes before function start
acknowledge and respond to guest requests
keep station neat and clean
continuously patrol station to refill drinks and remove service items
ensure guest satisfaction
use proper clearing and tray break down procedures
return reusable table complements for cleaning
assist setup and breakdown of buffet and special food service tables
set up, serve, and break down coffee breaks, receptions, and special functions
set up, tend, and break down banquet bars
follow cash and guest check procedures
return excess food following sanitation guidelines
complete assigned side work
keep banquet back hall and storage areas organized
apply proper service procedures
assist co-workers
stay updated on hotel events
maintain responsible alcohol service certification
mix and serve alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks during events
set up, service, breakdown, and clean coffee break areas
present breaks attractively and within time parameters
prepare beverages according to standards
secure beverage coolers and locks at shift end
abide by company and hotel policies
demonstrate active listening
