Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in pastry preparation or banquet catering preferred
  • Ability to operate large-volume cooking equipment
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Ability to maintain portion control and minimize food waste
  • Demonstrated punctuality and excellent attendance
  • Valid food handling certificate if required by state and federal regulations

Job Duties

  • Responsible for preparing banquet desserts, pastries and salads for catering events
  • Responsible for maintaining quality and production standards on all menu items
  • Ensure food is fresh and of high quality when served to guests
  • Responsible for portion control and serving temperatures of all products during events
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef to prepare product orders and production levels
  • Responsible for cleaning, stocking and restocking of workstations and displays
  • Operate large-volume cooking equipment such as grills, deep-fat fryers and ovens
  • Ensure work areas and equipment are clean, food products properly stored, utensils clean and put away, and floors swept and mopped at the end of shift
  • Be checked out by Floor Supervisor at end of shift to verify kitchen cleanliness standards
  • Maintain sanitation, health and safety standards in work areas
  • Demonstrate excellent attendance
