Job Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • minimum 2 years banquet supervisory experience
  • food service sanitation certification required
  • ability to lift up to 30 lbs and move 100+ lbs with assistance
  • strong math skills including algebraic equations using percentages
  • ability to walk, stand, and bend continuously
  • ability to manage schedules and staffing
  • ability to work under pressure
  • adherence to company, local, state and federal policies
  • CPR certification preferred
  • TIPS certification preferred
  • demonstrated leadership abilities

Job Qualifications

  • college degree preferred
  • 2+ years banquet supervisory experience
  • demonstrated leadership qualities
  • proficient in computer applications including Red Coat and MICROS
  • knowledge of food and beverage service standards
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to train and develop staff
  • ability to handle stressful situations
  • knowledge of budgeting and inventory management
  • customer service oriented
  • able to maintain professional appearance
  • preferred additional language skills

Job Duties

  • Maintain standards of food and beverage quality and guest service quality
  • achieve budgeted revenues, expenses and maximize profitability related to food and beverage
  • contribute to guest satisfaction across hotel and food and beverage departments
  • increase guest satisfaction through training, communication and organization
  • manage scheduling and staffing based on business needs and events
  • monitor banquet event orders, cover shifts and work hands on with staff
  • meet with sales team to assist with special event requests
  • ensure cleanliness and orderliness of banquet areas and equipment maintenance
  • manage operations in compliance with company policies and legal regulations
  • maintain security procedures for hotel products and monies
  • perform inventories and control product stock levels
  • oversee the beverage program and adhere to corporate guidelines
  • respond to internal and external complaints and take corrective action
  • act as manager on duty when scheduled
  • conduct departmental meetings and attend operation meetings
  • assume responsibilities of director or manager in their absence
  • handle staffing, training, counseling, disciplining and interviewing
  • assist with expo on banquet line and monitor food quality
  • direct supervisor tasks and ensure proper billing and documentation
  • perform additional duties as assigned
  • answer telephones clearly and coordinate information
  • utilize Red Coat, computer and MICROS applications
  • maintain professional appearance and grooming
  • preferred additional language ability
