Job Requirements

  • High school education required
  • Minimum two years experience as a banquet or food and beverage manager
  • Ability to obtain required government licenses or certificates
  • CPR training required
  • First aid training preferred
  • Must maintain neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance according to uniform guidelines
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds
  • Strong communication skills in English
  • Ability to follow health and safety regulations
  • Demonstrated leadership and team motivation skills

Job Qualifications

  • High school education required
  • College degree preferred
  • Two years of banquet manager or food and beverage manager experience required
  • Ability to obtain government required licenses or certificates
  • CPR training required
  • First aid training preferred
  • Knowledge of food and beverage preparations and service standards
  • Understanding of guest relations and etiquette
  • Familiarity with table settings and appropriate service ware
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local health and safety regulations
  • Proficient in English language
  • Basic mathematical skills
  • Ability to set realistic goals and performance standards
  • Ability to operate food and beverage equipment

Job Duties

  • Hires, schedules, and trains all banquet staff including conducting roll call and monthly meetings and illustrating proper service techniques and etiquette
  • Monitors staff performance and defines performance requirements with action plans for goals
  • Supervises the set up of function rooms including placement of linens, silver, china, and glassware according to event specifications
  • Visually inspects function rooms and equipment for cleanliness, inventory, and proper setup prior to events
  • Communicates calmly and positively with kitchen, service, beverage, conventions services, and engineering staff during functions to ensure timely, quality service and compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Supervises cleanup of function rooms and proper breakdown and storage of equipment
  • Attends leadership meetings, orders supplies and linens, posts and distributes event order sheets, and assists servers and captains with event execution according to Hilton standards
