Job Requirements

Job Qualifications

  • 3 to 5 years of catering experience in public venues or convention centers
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with employees, management, and guests

  • Proficiency in English reading, writing, and speaking
  • Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office, POS, and timekeeping systems
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented and fast-paced environment
  • Thorough knowledge of bar locations and operations
  • Valid Food Handlers certificate and Alcohol Service Permit if required
  • Understanding of sanitation, food preparation, alcohol policies, and safety standards
  • Basic math skills related to cash transactions and inventory

  • Familiarity with inventory cost control and menu planning
  • Basic computer proficiency including email, Excel, Word, Outlook, and scheduling software

Job Duties

  • Assists in effective management of catering operations
  • Ensures compliance with alcohol service policies during events
  • Provides supervision and mentoring to hourly event staff
  • Troubleshoots technical issues with POS systems
  • Generates employee schedules and verifies time records
  • Assists in training, development, and performance documentation of employees
  • Manages catered events from setup to teardown including staff and guest communication
  • Builds relationships with key decision-makers and influencers
  • Addresses catering requirements and requests promptly
  • Communicates daily with management and staff about guest needs and expectations
  • Follows up on guest experience to resolve issues
  • Recruits, hires, and oversees training of catering and special events staff
  • Ensures adequate staffing levels for events
  • Monitors health and safety standards and liquor law compliance
