Job Requirements
- Prior experience as server, captain, and set-up required
- High school diploma required, advanced degree in hospitality related field preferred
- Must possess basic mathematical skills and ability to use a calculator for complex calculations
- Strong familiarization with food and beverage financial systems and controls
- Dependable and reliable to meet demands of 24-hour operation with flexibility to work varied schedules including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Attention to detail
- Ability to effectively deal with guest and employee concerns in a friendly and positive manner
- Excellent interpersonal, listening, and communication skills to read, write, speak, and understand English
- Must be able to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stand and move throughout continuously to perform essential job functions

Job Duties
- Oversees the operation of the Banquets department including captains, servers, bartenders, and set-up team
- Lead recruiting, selecting and retaining a quality banquets and banquet set-up staff
- Review all event orders daily and perform follow up with banquets and set-up teams
- Assist in coordinating activities of assigned personnel and department responsibilities
- Oversee all training of internal associates and temporary staffing
- Maintain the highest quality of banquet service
- Maintain warm, hospitable guest relations
- Maintain accurate banquet and function records including event orders and banquet checks
- Maintain adequate inventories of banquet service supplies
- Maintain a high-quality image of all meeting spaces through effective housekeeping, maintenance, and sanitation
- Control costs and expenses of the department within budgeted guidelines
- Attend all food and beverage, event order, safety, and department head meetings
- Ensure good safety practices of employees
- Assist in emergency action plan and security procedures
- Ensure regular departmental meetings are held
- Instill Marcus Hotels & Resorts policies and Marriott standards
- Perform related duties and special projects as assigned
