Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in banquet management role at a major property
  • Extensive knowledge of food service and banquet equipment requirements
  • Extensive knowledge of all health and safety regulations
  • Ability to perform all duties of banquet staff
  • Flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays
  • Ability to bend, push, pull, lift and stand up to 8 hours
  • Good computer skills including Word and Excel
  • Fluency in English both verbal and non-verbal
  • Demonstrate strong initiative and self-direction

Job Duties

  • Provide strategic direction for the banquet
  • Advise associates of formal policies and procedures
  • Participate in recruitment and lead the training and overall management of teams
  • Manage banquet space including organizing and storage
  • Develop and implement all banquet beverage controls
  • Coordinate with supervisors and staff regarding banquet needs such as food, banquet equipment, tables, and chairs
  • Oversee maintenance of banquet equipment, function spaces and ensure cleanliness of banquet areas
  • Maintain inventory and upkeep of props, enhancements, linen and uniforms
  • Manage vendor and customer relations
  • Develop and update banquet and event food and beverage policies and procedures
  • Serve as primary liaison with key client contacts at all banquet functions
  • Ensure all operating procedures are followed and correct organizational problems
  • Handle guest concerns promptly and courteously
  • Work closely with banquet chef to coordinate food presentation and delivery times
  • Manage multiple events simultaneously with flexibility and energy
  • Conduct banquet and facility tours with Engineering and Housekeeping teams
  • Attend all pre-event and post-event meetings with clients, guests, and catering/events team
  • Promote teamwork and quality service through coordination with other departments
  • Perform other duties and tasks as assigned
