Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum 2 years experience in event management or food and beverage
- Proven management experience in banquet or similar settings
- Knowledge of relevant laws and sanitation practices
- Strong organizational and leadership abilities
- Effective communication skills
- Capability to motivate and lead teams
- Ability to handle guest interactions and complaints professionally
- Proficient with inventory management
- Ability to work full time onsite at Crystal Gateway Marriott

Job Qualifications

- 2 years experience in event management, food and beverage, or related professional area
- Knowledge of banquet operations and food service management
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to manage financial and administrative responsibilities
- Experience in staff scheduling and training
- Proficiency in controlling liquor costs and inventory
- Customer service orientation
- Problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with safety and sanitation standards
- Ability to conduct meetings and delegate tasks effectively
Job Duties
- Project supply needs for the department such as china, glass, silver, buffet presentations, props
- Apply knowledge of all laws relating to events
- Understand the impact of banquet operations on overall event success and manage activities to maximize customer satisfaction
- Adhere to and reinforce all standards, policies, and procedures
- Maintain established sanitation levels
- Manage departmental inventories and maintain equipment
- Use banquet beverage records to control liquor costs and manage banquet beverage inventory
- Schedule banquet service staff to forecast and service standards while maximizing profits
- Assist team in developing lasting relationships with groups to retain business and increase growth
- Set goals and delegate tasks to improve departmental performance
- Conduct monthly department meetings with the banquet team
- Apply and broaden knowledge of food and wine pairings and current event trends
- Act as a liaison to the kitchen staff
- Lead shifts and actively participate in servicing events
- Set a positive example for guest relations
- Interact with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels
- Respond to and handle guest problems and complaints
- Empower employees to provide excellent customer service
- Ensure employees understand expectations and parameters
- Strive to improve service performance
- Emphasize guest satisfaction during all departmental meetings and focus on continuous improvement
- Review comment cards and guest satisfaction results with employees
- Communicate and execute departmental and property emergency procedures and ensure staff are trained in safety procedures
- Observe service behaviors of employees and provide feedback
- Monitor progress and lead discussions with staff
- Participate in development and implementation of corrective action plans
- Review quarterly Meeting Planner Survey results and implement corrective actions addressing service challenges
- Attend and participate in all pertinent meetings
