Job Requirements
- Must have the ability to lift up to 70 pounds occasionally and up to 40 pounds frequently
- Must be able to stand and remain mobile for periods up to eight hours
- Must speak, read, write and understand the primary language of the work location
- Must exhibit high standards of conduct and professionalism
- Must have experience in banquet and catering management
- Must hold necessary certifications including Delaware Alcoholic Beverage Control Commission, ServSafe Manager and Allergen Certifications
- Must be guest focused
- Must possess strong leadership and communication skills
- Must be able to work days, nights, weekends and holidays as scheduled
Job Qualifications
- College degree in restaurant or hotel management preferred
- Minimum three years banquet and/or catering management experience
- Strong knowledge of food, beverage, and wine
- Proven success with staff training and development
- Experience with cost control and administration of policies
- Delaware Alcoholic Beverage Control Commission Certification
- ServSafe Manager Certification
- ServSafe Allergen Certification
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook
- Ability to operate independently and proactively
- Positive and flexible mindset with strong prioritization skills
Job Duties
- Coordinate all on-site ballroom events and off-premise events according to established standards
- Ensure successful execution of ballroom and catering events
- Hire, train, supervise, and develop ballroom personnel including house attendants
- Maintain cleanliness and oversee maintenance of the property's interior and exterior
- Assist ballroom sales managers with administrative support tasks related to corporate, wedding and social events
- Exceed guests' and company expectations for quality of service
- Manage staff performance and enforce policies and procedures
