Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Hotel/Restaurant Management, Business or equivalent experience
- 3-5 years experience in food service operations
- 1-2 years experience in high volume banquet operations
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Basic computer proficiency including Word and Excel

- Technical knowledge of overall food service operations
- Knowledge of different types and styles of service

- Handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work with numbers
- Basic computer skills including Word and Excel
Job Duties
- Reviews banquet functions for particular shift, ensures adequate staffing levels, supplies, and checks for special needs or arrangements
- Prepares daily assignment sheets for all banquet personnel and conducts pre-meal meeting
- Ensures that all Banquet Colleagues follow Fairmont Standards of Service and rules of conduct
- Contributes to Colleagues training, development, and coaching as needed
- Participates in the Hotel’s Service Principles process and supports staff participation to foster continuous improvement
- Communicates and promptly documents guest and colleague inquiries, feedback, and important items using proper procedures
- Coordinates with kitchen regarding food preparation and timeliness and with Beverage Supervisor regarding bar requirements
- Consults with Audio-Visual to ensure set up is done correctly and on time
- Confers with the host of the function on last minute arrangements and accommodates guest needs efficiently
- Ensures that meeting rooms are set up with proper amenities and maintains cleanliness and reset during breaks
- Supervises meeting room setup for the following shift
- Prepares banquet checks at end of functions ensuring accuracy and participates in weekly payroll process
- Attends daily BEO meetings, Pre-Cons, and other banquet-related meetings
- Attends Department Head meeting in Director’s absence
- Supports achieving banquet objectives related to guest satisfaction, employee surveys, and budget
- Upholds health, safety, and environmental initiatives
- Conducts walk through of banquet area at shift completion ensuring safety and security
- Performs additional duties as directed by Banquet Director
