Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Two years experience in event management, food and beverage, or related professional area
  • Ability to manage banquet operations and staff scheduling
  • Knowledge of laws related to event management
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Capacity to handle guest complaints and promote customer satisfaction
  • Ability to monitor inventories and control costs
  • Willingness to participate in team meetings and training
  • Competence in executing emergency procedures and safety protocols

Job Duties

  • Project supply needs for the department
  • Apply knowledge of all laws related to events
  • Manage banquet operations to maximize customer satisfaction
  • Adhere to and reinforce all standards, policies, and procedures
  • Maintain established sanitation levels
  • Manage departmental inventories and equipment
  • Control liquor costs and manage banquet beverage inventory
  • Schedule banquet service staff to meet forecast and service standards
  • Assist team in developing lasting relationships with groups
  • Set goals and delegate tasks to improve departmental performance
  • Conduct monthly department meetings with the banquet team
  • Apply and broaden knowledge of food and wine pairings and event trends
  • Act as liaison to kitchen staff
  • Lead shifts and actively participate in servicing events
  • Set a positive example for guest relations
  • Interact with guests to obtain feedback
  • Respond to and handle guest problems and complaints
  • Empower employees to provide excellent customer service
  • Ensure employees understand expectations and parameters
  • Strive to improve service performance
  • Emphasize guest satisfaction in departmental meetings
  • Review comment cards and guest satisfaction results with employees
  • Communicate and execute emergency procedures and train staff
  • Observe service behaviors and provide feedback
  • Monitor progress and lead staff discussions
  • Participate in the development and implementation of corrective action plans
  • Review meeting planner survey results and address service challenges
  • Attend and participate in all pertinent meetings
