Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Proven experience in banquet or event services management
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays

Job Duties

  • Support and manage the Events Department while collaborating with the Food and Beverage Director and other hotel departments
  • Supervise, empower, lead, coach and motivate the banquet team including captains, food servers and lead house attendants
  • Assist in achieving top box service scores on Meeting Planner surveys
  • Review Banquet Event Orders and communicate with guests and departments to ensure understanding
  • Ensure timely and appropriate setup of all functions while maintaining food, beverage and meeting standards
  • Proactively review staffing and equipment needs
  • Coordinate and execute all events with Culinary, Stewarding, Catering/Convention Services, Convention Services floor and Beverage departments
  • Maintain a high energy, positive and professional appearance
  • Develop innovative and creative decor for banquet function spaces
  • Manage short and long term banquet functions in front and back of house
  • Hire, train, develop, promote and continuously reinforce quality service standards
  • Facilitate administrative tasks such as payroll, reports, forecasts, POS procedures, inventory and budgeting for food and beverage functions
  • Perform daily walkthroughs of banquet department and function spaces to ensure compliance with health regulations and corporate standards
  • Develop ideas for special events and holiday functions
