Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in event services or banquet management
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • Proficiency in using point of sale and event management software
  • Physical ability to perform walkthroughs and supervise event setups
  • Commitment to delivering exceptional guest service
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment

  • Familiarity with Department of Health regulations and corporate hospitality standards

Job Duties

  • Support and manage the Events Department including banquet operations, catering, convention services, and banquet beverage teams
  • Supervise, empower, lead, coach and motivate the banquet team including captains, food servers, and lead house attendants
  • Assist the hotel in achieving top box service scores on Meeting Planner surveys by ensuring clear communication and understanding of banquet event orders
  • Oversee the appropriate and timely setup of all functions and meetings while maintaining food, beverage, and meeting specifications
  • Proactively review staffing and equipment needs for events
  • Coordinate and execute events with Culinary, Stewarding, Catering/Convention Services, CS Floor, and Beverage departments
  • Maintain a high energy, positive, professional appearance while developing innovative and creative décor for banquet function spaces
  • Manage short and long-term banquet functions in both front and back of the house
  • Establish highest standards of quality service through effective hiring, training, development, promotion, and reinforcement
  • Handle administrative tasks such as payroll facilitation, reports, forecasts, POS procedures, inventory, and budget management for food and beverage functions
  • Perform daily walk-throughs of banquet departments, function spaces, and storerooms to ensure compliance with Department of Health regulations and Hyatt standards
  • Develop ideas for special events and holiday functions
