  • Full time management experience in hospitality or related industry
  • Proven leadership skills with ability to motivate and develop teams

  • Proficiency in general computer knowledge

  • Knowledge of banquet service levels and processes
  • Previous experience as event services manager, assistant, captain or supervisor preferred
  • High energy and entrepreneurial spirit
  • Effective customer service skills and ability to communicate clearly and motivate others

Job Duties

  • Support and manage the events department while collaborating with the food and beverage director and other hotel departments
  • Supervise, empower, lead, coach and motivate banquet team including captains, food servers and lead house attendants to achieve exceptional guest services and associate engagement
  • Assist in reaching top box service scores on meeting planner surveys by reviewing banquet event orders for thorough communication and understanding
  • Ensure timely and appropriate setup of all functions and meetings while maintaining standards of food, beverage and meeting specifications
  • Proactively review staffing and equipment needs for events
  • Coordinate and execute all events with culinary, stewarding, catering/convention services, convention services floor and banquet beverage teams
  • Maintain a high energy, positive and professional appearance
  • Develop innovative and creative décor for banquet function spaces
  • Oversee short and long term banquet functions in front and back of house
  • Establish highest standards of quality service through effective hiring, training, development, promotion and continuous reinforcement
  • Facilitate administrative tasks including payroll, reports, forecasts, point of sale procedures, inventory and budget management for food and beverage functions
  • Conduct daily walkthroughs of banquet departments and function spaces to ensure compliance with health regulations and Hyatt corporate standards
  • Generate ideas for special and holiday event functions
