Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • culinary school graduate preferred
  • minimum 3 years experience in professional kitchen
  • ServSafe or similar food safety certification preferred
  • ability to stand for extended periods
  • ability to work in hot, wet, and humid conditions
  • capability to lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs
  • excellent communication skills in English
  • ability to lead and motivate a team
  • willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • Culinary school graduate or 3 years progressive experience in professional kitchen preferred
  • ServSafe or similar food safety certification preferred
  • prior experience in commercial/professional kitchens
  • proficient knowledge of guest service
  • skilled in various cooking techniques including baking, broiling, grilling, sautéing, roasting, blanching
  • proficient with Microsoft Office or similar programs
  • capable of sound judgment in fast-paced situations
  • strong leadership and training abilities
  • excellent written and spoken English
  • Spanish language skills a plus

Job Duties

  • Responsible for safe handling of food product according to health codes and laws
  • maintains clean and sanitary work environment including pre and post shift cleaning
  • prepares and serves food items according to chef specifications
  • assists in preparing daily task lists for service readiness
  • supervises and trains new employees as requested
  • manages storage of food deliveries ensuring quality and shelf life
  • works at various food stations with high competency
  • reports problems with food product, equipment or work area
  • engages with guests during service and addresses issues
  • ensures managers are aware of guest comments
  • safely uses and teaches knife skills
  • operates and trains others on kitchen equipment
  • performs other duties as assigned
