Job Requirements

  • 5 years of banquets and events leadership experience
  • Experience being the operational lead for large life events such as weddings and mitzvahs
  • Resort, private club, or luxury hospitality experience strongly preferred
  • Ability to communicate and work cross-functionally within the League and with members, vendors, and clients
  • Ability to build partnerships and relationships with leaders of all League departments
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows/PC
  • Ability to learn computer programs such as Outlook 365, Jonas, and ADP
  • Bending and lifting required
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Must have open availability for all meal periods including nights, weekends, and holidays with a flexible work schedule
  • Availability for mandatory banquet staff workdays on specific dates including Easter, Spring Ball, Mother’s Day, Independence Day Celebration, Thanksgiving, and Santa & Grinch Brunch

  • Thorough understanding of safety, sanitation, and alcohol service compliance

Job Duties

  • Determine staffing needs of the department
  • Interview candidates for open positions and onboard individuals upon hiring
  • Write and conduct 90 day and annual reviews for banquet leadership with Director of Food and Beverage
  • Write and conduct 90 day and annual reviews for all line-level staff with banquet leadership
  • Provide constant training and development of all positions within the department, focusing on banquet leadership team
  • Coach, counsel, and document staff when required in collaboration with banquet leadership and human resources
  • Manage weekly scheduling for servers, beverage staff, housemen, and coffee break attendants
  • Maintain staff assignments, availability, and information records
  • Accommodate changes in staffing, set-up, and service needs
  • Elevate product and service standards to maintain #1 City Club status
  • Cover floor shifts and take lead on major VIP and holiday events
  • Address complaints, concerns, and special requests from members, clients, and group contacts
  • Communicate with group contacts, event managers, culinary leaders, and banquet team to ensure quality and timeliness of all food and beverage items
  • Work closely with property leadership to design effective menus and ensure excellent product and service quality
  • Attend regular operational meetings for effective coordination between departments
  • Control labor and operating expenses through scheduling, budgeting, purchasing, and inventory management
