Job Requirements
- High School Diploma required
- two years of experience in special event management and hospitality
- must possess a valid driver’s license under the laws of the State of Ohio
- must be currently certified in or able to obtain ServSafe certification
- ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with employees and the public
- ability to speak and write clearly, concisely, and persuasively using correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation
- ability to perform work with accuracy and organization
- ability to work cooperatively with others
- ability to perform with considerable independence and initiative
Job Qualifications
- High School Diploma required
- Bachelor’s degree in restaurant management, hospitality, or related field preferred
- two years of experience in special event management and hospitality
- valid driver’s license in the State of Ohio
- certified or able to obtain ServSafe certification
- ability to develop effective working relationships with stakeholders
- strong verbal and written communication skills
- accuracy and organizational skills
- cooperative and independent work ethic
Job Duties
- Serve as event leader for all banquets, parties, and special events at the Emerald Necklace Marina Party Room and other locations
- meet with clients to sell event space and book events
- answer and respond to event inquiries
- gather event information and ensure guest needs are met
- prepare proposals, contracts, and other necessary documents
- determine proper set-up, food, beverage, and guest needs
- coordinate event with appropriate staff
- plan and coordinate logistical execution of parties, banquets, and special events including scheduling servers and bartenders, workflow, equipment, supplies, menus, set-up, execution, and tear-down
- manage events ensuring client needs are met and communicate with key stakeholders
- manage event budgets in compliance with revenue control procedures
- provide prompt and accurate follow-up and communication to guests
- act as on-site host or hostess for events
- evaluate effectiveness of events and promotions and work with management to improve
- travel to various restaurant locations to host events, drop off catering, and meet with clients
- keep supervisor informed of key issues
- maintain a safe work environment and respond to hazardous conditions
- assess client needs and quickly provide solutions
- perform related duties as assigned
