Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • prior experience in food preparation or kitchen environment preferred
  • valid SERV safe food safety certification
  • completion of OSHA Safety Data Sheets training
  • ability to stand for long periods and perform manual tasks
  • must wear non-slip shoes
  • capable of following detailed instructions and working under minimal supervision
  • flexibility to work various shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • ability to maintain uniform in proper condition
  • willingness to assist in other hotel areas when required

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • prior experience in a kitchen or food preparation role is advantageous
  • certified in SERV safe or equivalent food safety certification
  • understanding of OSHA safety data sheets and workplace safety protocols
  • ability to work efficiently under pressure
  • strong teamwork and communication skills
  • positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • knowledge of food safety laws specific to North Carolina
  • familiarity with kitchen equipment and sanitation standards

Job Duties

  • Produce superior quality foods with short ticket times pertaining to a la carte or restaurant service
  • use product efficiently and cost effectively and review with Executive Chef as required
  • ensure prep cooks and dishwashers complete all duties and assigned tasks or dismiss them if not needed
  • maintain a clean, sanitary, and well-stocked station and coolers
  • complete all tasks efficiently under pressure while demonstrating teamwork and a positive attitude
  • complete all tasks in an organized manner with minimal supervision
  • demonstrate an excellent work ethic
  • honor any supervisor's reasonable request
  • adhere to uniform standards and maintenance
  • wear non-slip shoes for safety purposes
  • perform to specifications of Embassy Suites, North Carolina State and Local Food Safety laws
  • complete required food safety course (SERV safe)
  • complete OSHA Safety Data Sheets training including Fire Safety, Hazardous Waste, Chemical Spills, Choking, and Weather and Threat Procedures
