Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • management experience in banquet and catering operations
  • ability to cope with heavy workload
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to prioritize and work with limited supervision
  • knowledge of food safety methods
  • ability to operate and clean restaurant equipment
  • ability to stoop, reach, walk, and stand for long periods
  • ability to lift up to 40 pounds
  • Serve-Safe certification or willingness to obtain
  • must obtain or hold ABC card and Beer card
  • ability to speak clearly and distinctly
  • must follow health and safety regulations
  • ability to work flexible hours including weekends, evenings, and holidays
  • willingness to wear uniform and hairnet
  • ability to work in non-smoking environment

Job Qualifications

  • Management experience in full-service banquets, dining, catering

  • knowledge of food preparation including food safety techniques
  • ability to operate and clean various restaurant equipment
  • knowledge of Excel and Word computer programs helpful

Job Duties

  • Plan and oversee day-to-day banquet culinary operations and give direction to associates
  • create and implement menu selections for special banquet themes and events
  • ensure consistency in the preparation of all food items according to hotel recipes and standards
  • follow all safety and sanitation policies
  • contribute to maximizing overall departmental profit
  • control and analyze quality levels of production, presentation, guest satisfaction, merchandising and marketing, operation, payroll, food costs, sanitation, cleanliness, and hygiene
  • assist in monitoring and developing team member performance including supervision, coaching, counseling, evaluation, training, scheduling, assigning work, and delivering recognition and reward
  • participate in development of the kitchen’s business strategies
  • supervise daily setup for menu, anticipate business volume, and adjust work areas/schedules accordingly
  • manage time effectively and efficiently
  • establish and maintain effective employee relations and interdepartmental working relationships
  • perform additional duties as assigned
