Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum of 3 years experience in banquet or catering culinary roles
  • current Serve-Safe certification
  • strong leadership and team management skills
  • ability to maintain kitchen safety and sanitation standards
  • effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • availability to work flexible hours including weekends and special events

Job Qualifications

  • Certified in Serve-Safe food management
  • proven experience as a banquet or catering chef
  • experience in menu development and customization
  • leadership experience with hiring and training culinary staff
  • strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • demonstrated ability to manage food cost and labor efficiently
  • excellent organizational and communication skills
  • creativity in culinary practices and seasonal menu planning
  • ability to work collaboratively within management and cross-functional teams

Job Duties

  • Executing and fulfilling banquet event orders (BEOs)
  • planning and directing food preparation and culinary activities
  • customize menus for weddings, corporate and social groups
  • maintain a safe and clean work environment in the banquet kitchen and surrounding areas
  • ensure stewarding responsibilities are being fulfilled throughout the hotel with the help of the executive steward
  • hiring and training of banquet cooks, Café East cooks and all utility workers
  • develop and implement a seasonal based menu for Café East that supplies food to the pool (seasonal) and 19th and Timber (when open)
  • develop Café East weekly specials that will drive revenue and interest from the general public/residents on social media
  • develop special event menus such as wine dinners, wine and bourbon tastings and execute those menus
  • execute any outside catering that management needs done
  • develop and execute a new and innovative amenity selection for guests
  • supply the employee cafeteria with daily lunch selections
  • drive the overall success of the resort based on company values and principles
