Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Six years of culinary experience in a fast-paced, high volume setting
- Two years of management experience
- Ability to obtain ServSafe certification within 90 days
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and standard office equipment
- Ability to work various shifts including late nights, early mornings, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to lift, carry, push, pull up to 50 pounds with assistance
- Maintain confidentiality
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to adapt to a noisy, hot, cold, and physically demanding work environment
Job Qualifications
- Advanced cooking skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Six years of progressively responsible culinary experience in a high volume, fast-paced, multi-station setting or professional kitchen environment
- Associate’s degree from an accredited culinary school can substitute for two years of experience
- Two years of management experience
- Ability to achieve ServSafe certification within 90 days
- Proficiency in standard office equipment and Microsoft Office
- Prior experience with purchasing and labor management software preferred
- Ability to maintain discretion with confidential information
- Effective communication skills with groups and team members
- Ability to work irregular and extended shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Physical ability to meet demands of the role including lifting up to 50 pounds with assistance
Job Duties
- Direct the overall production of food prepared by venue staff and oversee daily operations of the kitchen including shift meetings and opening and closing duties
- Carry out managerial responsibilities such as interviewing, hiring, training, scheduling, motivating, appraising, rewarding, disciplining team members, addressing complaints, and resolving problems
- Lead the development of new menus and recipes using culinary techniques and trends
- Enforce recipes and training procedures to maintain the highest food quality standards
- Assist management in budget development and operating within budgetary guidelines including evaluating financial reports and adjusting operations
- Develop and implement initiatives to increase sales, control costs, and manage appropriate inventories
- Maintain a safe, sanitary, and organized work environment
- Assist in ensuring optimal guest satisfaction and provide timely, positive resolution to guest inquiries and concerns
- Establish, update, and ensure compliance with departmental internal controls, policies, procedures, and regulations
- Perform other duties as assigned
