Job Duties

  • Demonstrates skill in food preparation, garnishing, plate presentation and service in compliance with regulatory standards
  • prepares hot food items for cafeteria, physician’s dining, catering and room service operations using standard recipes and HACCP guidelines
  • ensures all food items are labeled and dated for quality and freshness
  • safely handles and cleans knives and other equipment
  • maintains kitchen utensils, equipment and surfaces in a safe and sanitary manner following HACCP guidelines
  • keeps storage areas clean and orderly compliant with regulations
  • manages food and supply inventory using FIFO rotation, removes and reports outdated items
  • communicates food quality issues, shortages or substitutions to Team Leader or Supervisor
  • assists in inventory management, purchasing, menu development and coordination of large catered events
  • completes daily reports, cleaning checklists, and temperature logs
  • assists in recipe development
  • performs other duties as assigned
