  • Culinary degree strongly preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in high volume fine dining restaurant, hotel or country club
  • Food Handlers Permit must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date

Job Duties

  • Demonstrates skill in food preparation, garnishing, plate presentation and service which comply with regulatory standards
  • Prepares hot food items for cafeteria, physician's dining, catering and room service operations according to standard recipes and HACCP guidelines
  • Ensures all food items are labeled and dated correctly to maintain quality and freshness
  • Safely handles and cleans knives and other kitchen equipment
  • Maintains kitchen utensils, equipment, and physical surfaces in a safe and sanitary manner following HACCP guidelines
  • Maintains clean and orderly storage areas according to regulatory guidelines
  • Rotates food and supply items using FIFO, removes and reports outdated items
  • Communicates food quality issues, shortages or substitutions to supervisor in a timely manner
  • Assists with inventory levels, purchasing food and supplies, menu development and coordinating large catering events
  • Accurately completes daily reports, cleaning checklists and temperature logs
  • Assists in recipe development
  • Performs other duties as assigned
