Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum of two years of banquet or hospitality experience including supervisory responsibilities
  • ability to stand for extended periods
  • ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • ability to lead a team
  • previous banquet captain experience required
  • hotel banquet experience a plus

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum of two years of experience in a banquet or hospitality setting
  • supervisory experience preferred
  • strong understanding of banquet operations and procedures
  • proficiency in customer service and conflict resolution
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to work well under pressure
  • proficiency in using POS systems
  • ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • prior experience working in a Marriott hotel preferred
  • experience with event planning software preferred
  • formal training in hospitality management preferred

Job Duties

  • Oversee banquet setup
  • manage event logistics
  • provide exceptional customer service
  • lead and train banquet team including hiring and performance management
  • manage banquet inventory
  • utilize POS systems
  • manage table assignments and seating
  • ensure efficient food and beverage service
  • resolve problems efficiently
