Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Three to six months related experience and/or training or equivalent education and experience
  • Ability to read and speak English
  • Must meet state age requirements for handling alcoholic beverages

Job Duties

  • Review assigned banquet staff functions and banquet menus prior to scheduled events
  • Conduct pre-banquet meetings to ensure appearance and hygiene standards, assign stations, review banquet event orders
  • Communicate with Executive Chef or Kitchen Manager to confirm event details and ensure timely updates
  • Ensure appropriate quantities of china, glassware, silverware, linens, and other event items are available, requisition items as necessary
  • Check room set-up before events and confirm food quantities and timing with kitchen
  • Handle banquet equipment properly and oversee storage after events
  • Conduct random audits to evaluate food service quality, ensure food temperature and presentation, and identify up-sell opportunities
  • Review banquet schedule regularly for changes and special events
  • Incorporate safe work practices
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance
  • Perform other duties as required
