Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 3-6 months related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • ability to read and speak English
  • must meet state age requirements for handling alcoholic beverages

Job Duties

  • Reviews assigned banquet staff functions and banquet menus prior to scheduled events
  • conducts pre-banquet meetings with staff to ensure appearance and hygiene standards are met, assigns stations and partners, and reviews banquet event orders
  • communicates with the Executive Chef, Kitchen Manager, or event coordinator to ensure all event details are planned for and met, making timely changes as necessary
  • ensures appropriate quantities of china, glassware, silverware, linens, and other items are available and secures requisitions for items not in inventory
  • checks room set-up prior to events and confirms quantities and timing of food with the Executive Chef
  • ensures proper handling and storage of all equipment after use
  • conducts random audits during functions to evaluate food and service quality
  • regularly reviews banquet schedules, calendar of events, and special events
  • incorporates safe work practices in job performance
  • maintains regular and reliable attendance
  • performs other duties as required
