Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 3-6 months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • ability to read and speak English may be required to perform job duties
  • must meet state age requirements for handling alcoholic beverages

Job Duties

  • Review assigned banquet staff functions and banquet menus prior to scheduled events
  • conduct pre-banquet meetings with staff to ensure appearance and hygiene standards, assign stations and partners, and review banquet event orders
  • communicate with Executive Chef, Kitchen Manager or event coordinator to confirm all event details and ensure instructions are followed
  • ensure appropriate quantities of china, glassware, silverware, linens, and other items are available and requisition as needed
  • check room set-up prior to event and meet with Executive Chef to confirm food quantities and timing
  • ensure proper handling and storage of equipment and supplies after use
  • conduct random audits during functions to evaluate food and service quality, including temperature and portion control
  • regularly review banquet schedule for changes and special events
  • incorporate safe work practices in all job functions
  • maintain regular and reliable attendance
  • perform other duties as assigned
