Job Requirements

  • Minimum diploma in hospitality or tourism management or relevant field
  • at least two years of progressive experience in hotel banquet service
  • experience in supervisory or managerial banquet roles preferred
  • ability to speak a second language considered an asset
  • proficiency with Microsoft Suite
  • excellent communication skills
  • physical ability to stand or walk for long periods
  • strong time management and organizational skills

Job Qualifications

  • Diploma in hospitality or tourism management or relevant field
  • minimum two years of progressive hotel experience
  • thorough understanding of banquet service
  • previous experience as banquet manager, assistant or supervisor preferred
  • proficiency in Microsoft Suite applications
  • refined verbal and written communication skills
  • physically agile and able to stand or walk for long periods
  • excellent time management and organizational skills

Job Duties

  • Assist banquet manager in serving guests during functions to ensure a positive guest experience
  • assist manager with scheduling of required shifts
  • set up event room including glassware, service ware, linen
  • attend pre-shift meetings to learn function particulars and expectations
  • greet and welcome guests and respond to their requests courteously
  • serve beverages and food in appropriate order
  • ensure quick removal of dishes as guests finish their meals
  • abide by all laws and corporate policies regarding alcoholic beverages
  • replenish beverages and check guest satisfaction
  • reset event rooms according to manager's specifications after functions
  • coach and counsel employees to reflect Hyatt service standards
  • conduct or ensure completion of all training and evaluations
  • mentor, motivate and teach staff to ensure success
  • perform other related functions as assigned
