Job Requirements

  • Minimum high school graduation or equivalent
  • Related restaurant or banquet experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of 2 years banquet style service recommended
  • Banquet Captain experience preferred
  • Outgoing, friendly, professional personality
  • Leadership skills to motivate staff with quality and standards commitment
  • Highly energetic, self-starter with hands-on approach
  • Ability to communicate clearly with employees, co-workers, vendors, and management
  • Ability to resolve conflicts with members and guests effectively
  • MAST 12 certified
  • Pierce County Food Handlers Permit or ServSafe certified
  • CPR, AED, or First Aid certification preferred
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts including weekends and holidays with variable overtime
  • Employment contingent on background check clearance

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum high school graduation or equivalent
  • Related restaurant or banquet experience or training preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years banquet style service recommended
  • Prior experience as Banquet Captain preferred
  • Thorough knowledge of food and beverage operations and industry standards
  • Outgoing, friendly, professional personality
  • Proven leadership skills with commitment to quality and club standards
  • Strong communication skills at all levels
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and understand primary workplace language
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment
  • Ability to accept performance feedback professionally
  • MAST 12 certification required
  • Valid Pierce County Food Handlers Permit or ServSafe certification required
  • CPR, AED, or First Aid certification preferred

Job Duties

  • Coordinate with the event host on all aspects of the banquet function including greeting members and guests
  • Coordinate special requests such as dietary restrictions communicating with appropriate departments
  • Observe and respond to guests to ensure timely service and satisfaction
  • Lead the banquet service team in executing duties according to banquet party sheet
  • Train staff in setup and breakdown of banquet areas
  • Monitor service of food and beverage adhering to Club standards
  • Oversee cleanliness and readiness of banquet areas before and after events
  • Assist with buffet presentations and décor
  • Communicate last-minute changes to banquet team
  • Maintain communication with Banquet Chef and food and beverage team to ensure timing and service quality
  • Handle equipment carefully and perform inventory checks
  • Ensure compliance with health, sanitation, and safety regulations
  • Bartend events as required
  • Participate in weekly Food & Beverage meetings and assist in event logistics
  • Maintain positive and professional demeanor in all interactions
  • Conduct pre-event and post-event team meetings as assigned
  • Have complete knowledge of all food and beverage items on event menus
  • Secure the building after events
  • Assist Clubhouse Manager with staff assignments and scheduling input
  • Report issues and employee misconduct during events
  • Complete other duties as assigned
