Job Requirements
- Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, service oriented manner
- Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Avion Hospitality standards
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming per brand standards
- Comply with all Avion Hospitality standards and regulations
- Comply with certification requirements including Alcohol Awareness and Food Handlers
- Maintain a friendly and warm demeanor at all times
- Inspect and supervise set-up and breakdown of banquet functions
- Act as liaison between sales and banquet contacts
- Respond to guest concerns and communicate with management
- Assist with banquet scheduling and administrative tasks
- Maintain proper control over banquet beverage service
- Ensure sanitation and cleanliness of all function and storage areas
- Follow state liquor laws and hotel safety policies
- Supervise banquet staff according to management directives
- Conduct pre-function meetings and assign job tasks
- Monitor service and clean-up during and after events
- Assist in hiring, training, and cross training of staff
- Manage inventory and requisition supplies
- Handle Lost and Found items according to standards
- Perform other job duties as assigned
- Maintain possession of Alcohol Awareness Certification
- Must be able to work flexible schedule including nights and weekends
- Must work in person across all shifts including day, evening, morning, and night.
Job Qualifications
- Previous banquet service experience
- Previous supervisory responsibility preferred
- Alcohol Awareness Certification compliant with state regulations
- Ability to communicate information and ideas clearly
- Ability to evaluate and select alternative courses of action quickly and accurately
- Effective under high-pressure and stressful situations
- Initiative in job performance and anticipating needs
- Ability to maintain composure and objectivity under pressure
- Effective problem handling and resolution
- Strong listening and understanding skills
- Ability to work with financial data and perform basic arithmetic
- Knowledge of banquet menus, pricing, and hotel services
- Familiarity with safety and fire procedures
- Ability to enforce hotel policies and standard operating procedures.
Job Duties
- Supervise and assist with the set up, service, and clean up of all assigned banquet functions
- Inspect the set-up of meeting and banquet functions against the Banquet Event Order
- Act as the liaison between Sales/Catering Manager and in-house meeting or banquet contacts
- Respond to guests' problems, complaints, and accidents and communicate issues to management
- Assist with the creation of the banquet work schedule and completion of wage progress reports
- Requisition liquor for banquet bars and maintain control over banquet beverage service
- Supervise banquet staff and ensure adherence to safety and operational policies
- Monitor ongoing functions throughout assigned shift
- Assist in hiring and training banquet staff
- Ensure sanitation and cleanliness of function spaces and storage areas
- Enforce state liquor laws and hotel policies
- Prepare banquet checks and obtain guest signatures
- Conduct pre-function meetings to check staffing and menus
- Manage inventory and requisition supplies
- Attend meetings as required
- Cross train as necessary
- Handle Lost and Found items according to standards
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
