Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 18 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages
  • 1 year experience as a restaurant or banquet food server
  • food handling certificate
  • fluency in English both verbal and non-verbal
  • provide legible communication
  • compute basic arithmetic
  • ability to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy
  • prioritize and organize
  • be a clear thinker, remain calm and resolve problems using good judgement
  • follow directions thoroughly
  • understand guest's service needs
  • work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team
  • work with minimal supervision
  • maintain confidentiality of guest information and hotel data
  • knowledge of various food service styles such as French service, Russian service, tableside flambe service, Butler style service
  • exert physical effort in transporting 25 to 50 pounds
  • endure various physical movements throughout the work areas
  • reach 1-2 feet
  • remain in stationary position for 30 minutes to 2 hours throughout work shift
  • satisfactorily communicate with guests, management and co-workers to their understanding
  • must be legally eligible to work in the United States

  • high school graduate or equivalent vocational training
  • certification in liquor, wine and food service
  • previous culinary training
  • knowledge of specific room set-up styles
  • fluency in a foreign language preferably Spanish
  • certification in an alcoholic awareness program
  • certification in CPR
  • ability to suggestively sell
  • previous guest relations training

Job Duties

  • Set up assigned tables according to specifications
  • retrieve and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and food orders
  • take beverage orders and collect payments where applicable
  • maintain cleanliness and condition of work areas and equipment
  • follow directions thoroughly
  • understand guest's service needs
  • work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team
