Job Requirements
- Minimum of 18 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages
- 1 year experience as a restaurant or banquet food server
- food handling certificate
- fluency in English both verbal and non-verbal
- provide legible communication
- compute basic arithmetic
- ability to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy
- ability to prioritize and organize
- ability to be a clear thinker, remain calm and resolve problems using good judgement
- ability to follow directions thoroughly
- ability to understand guest's service needs
- ability to work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team
- ability to work with minimal supervision
- ability to maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent hotel data
- knowledge of various food service styles (e.g., French service, Russian service, tableside flambe service, Butler style service)
- exert physical effort in transporting 25 to 50 pounds
- endure various physical movements throughout the work areas
- reach 1-2 feet
- remain in stationary position for 30 minutes to 2 hours throughout work shift
- satisfactorily communicate with guests, management and co-workers to their understanding
- legally eligible to work in the United States

- high school graduate or equivalent vocational training certificate
- certification of previous training in liquor, wine and food service
- previous culinary training
- knowledge of specific room set-up styles
- fluency in a foreign language, preferably Spanish
- certification in an alcoholic awareness program
- certification in CPR
- ability to suggestively sell
- previous guest relations training
Job Duties
- Set up assigned tables
- retrieve and serve alcoholic, non-alcoholic beverages and food orders to guest tables according to hotel specifications and group requirements
- take beverage orders and collect payments where specified
- maintain cleanliness and condition of work areas and equipment
- provide courteous and efficient guest service
- follow food safety and hygiene standards
- communicate effectively with guests and team members
