Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Prior experience in a high-end, high-volume banquet operation is required
  • Prior supervisory experience is required
  • Must be able to speak, write, and understand English
  • Ability to communicate in Spanish and or Haitian Creole desirable
  • Must meet Food Handler and Responsible Vendor training and certification requirements
  • Ability to follow instructions
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Creative, flexible, and innovative team player
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills

Job Duties

  • Meet and greet guests in a friendly and warm manner
  • Coordinate with the event planner and or the sales manager on all aspects of the banquet function
  • Perform planning and organization functions for the banqueting department like maintaining and updating function sheets and BEO
  • Inspect banquet rooms, service, and kitchen areas for cleanliness, proper set up, and ensure that sufficient supplies and equipment are available for functions
  • Oversee all aspects of assigned banquet activities, ensuring food stations and bars are properly set and ready for execution at appointed times
  • Respond quickly and accurately to guest requests
  • Plan the event course and orchestrate its completion in a timely and discreet manner
