Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- One year experience as a banquet server or banquet captain
- Current Food Handler’s Certificate
- TIPS trained
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Ability to make quick decisions
- Ability to motivate and lead a team
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights weekends and holidays
- Some travel required
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects
- Must maintain professional attitude and appearance
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 20 lbs and standing for long periods
- Compliance with all organizational policies and laws
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- One year of experience as a banquet server or banquet captain
- Previous supervisory experience preferred
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet strict deadlines
- Ability to work under minimal supervision
- Must have a professional attitude and appearance
- Flexible to work nights, weekends, holidays, and additional hours as needed
- Current Food Handler's Certificate
- TIPS training
Job Duties
- Communicate effectively both verbal and written in English
- Make quick and accurate decisions
- Consult with Food Services Manager regarding serving arrangements and additional resources
- Supervise banquet servers
- Meet with Chef on Duty to review event orders and expectations
- Meet with clients prior to events to review menus and itineraries
- Anticipate and respond promptly to customer needs
- Motivate and lead servers, resolve conflicts, and exceed guest expectations
- Conduct staff lineups, inspect uniforms, review menus, and provide training
- Prepare Captain's Reports detailing event details and feedback
- Promote and maintain high customer service standards
- Enforce responsible alcohol service policies
- Inspect and ensure cleanliness and ambiance of function space
- Observe food presentation and service quality
- Maintain compliance with organizational policies and laws
- Manage consumption sheets
- Ensure cleanliness and order of front and back of house
- Complete all closing duties and paperwork
- Provide staff performance feedback and participate in employee counseling
- Foster cooperative working climate and maximize team productivity
- Review assignment statuses and communicate with Banquet Manager
- Notify Manager of supply shortages
- Perform all other assigned duties
