Job Requirements

  • Minimum 21 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages
  • Minimum two years experience as bartender or bar back
  • High school diploma or equivalent vocational training certificate preferred
  • Licensed with Liquor Commission Card and alcohol awareness program certification
  • Ability to exert physical effort lifting up to 75 pounds
  • Ability to remain stationary for up to 8 hours
  • Ability to perform bending, crouching, lifting
  • Any combination of education and experience to meet necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum two years experience as a bartender or bar back
  • High school diploma or equivalent vocational training certificate preferred
  • Prior banquet service and guest relations experience preferred
  • Ability to anticipate guest needs and respond promptly
  • Familiarity with hotel services and local attractions to accurately respond to guest inquiries
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Knowledge of various drink recipes and beverage service standards

Job Duties

  • Greet and acknowledge all arriving and departing guests
  • Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies, service procedures, and standards
  • Anticipate guests' needs, respond promptly, and acknowledge all guests
  • Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned work areas
  • Maintain complete knowledge of liquor brands, beers, non-alcoholic beverages, wines, champagnes, prices, glassware, ingredients, preparation methods, garnishes, and specific service requirements
  • Strictly abide by state liquor regulations
  • Obtain assigned bank and ensure accuracy of contracted monies
  • Complete opening side duties including setting up the bar, requisitioning supplies, stocking ice and glassware, and checking cleanliness and condition of equipment
  • Transport bar unit and supplies to function area and set up
  • Take and prepare drink orders using suggestive selling techniques
  • Serve drinks and provide club service as specified
  • Collect drink tickets and ensure all cash bars are paid
  • Prepare consumption reports and document bottle transfers and spill sheets
  • Complete closing side duties including cleaning, storing supplies, securing liquor and equipment, and removing trash
  • Perform other assigned duties as needed
