Job Description
NC State Dining is a prominent food service provider at North Carolina State University, dedicated to delivering high-quality dining experiences to students, faculty, and staff across campus. Operating a diverse range of food venues, including 11 cafes, three food courts, six dining halls, three markets, two restaurants, as well as vending and nutritional counseling services, NC State Dining plays an integral role in the university community. Job Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Must be able to stand for extended periods
- Must have reliable transportation to work locations
- Ability to check identification to verify legal drinking age
- Must be able to lift and carry heavy items
- Temporary employment status
- Compliance with all NC State Dining policies and procedures
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous experience in bartending or hospitality preferred
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of safe alcohol service and responsible beverage practices
- Physical ability to set up and break down bar equipment
- Customer service orientation
- Ability to adapt to varying event types and environments
Job Duties
- Able to work all types of events anywhere on campus
- Able to work by themselves
- Proper set up and break down of bars
- Setup events, work the event, and clean up after the event, including removing all catering items from the event space(s), washing any dirty catering items and returning all cleaned and restocked items to the appropriate places within the catering stock rooms
- Communicating with clients and guests as needed
- Catering support during down time
- Making sure the kitchen is clean before they leave when in Talley (taking out trash, sinks and counters are clean, floors are swept and mopped, dishwasher is drained and turned off)
- Able to check for identification ensuring no minors are being served
- Other duties as assigned to ensure NC State Dining business needs are met
- Position may be asked to assist in other locations as necessary
