Job Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old
- availability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays
- must have good communication and customer service skills
- ability to stand for extended periods
- must possess or be able to obtain a valid food handler’s permit
- prior experience in food and beverage service preferred
- ability to follow safety and sanitation protocols
Job Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license may be required
- must possess or be able to obtain a valid food handler’s permit and/or alcohol servers’ permit where required by state law
Job Duties
- Assembles and delivers all food and supplies for catered functions to their scheduled locations
- logs and maintains food temperatures as needed
- arranges chef tables with food, beverage and service items according to standards
- serves food and beverages to guests
- thoroughly cleans location after event is completed
- returns food and beverages, serving equipment and utensils to assigned locations
- ensures guests receive friendly, courteous service at all times
- maintains clean and safe work environment
- follows safety and sanitation policy and procedures at all times
- promptly and warmly greets guests in the dining room
- takes food and beverage orders efficiently, following established steps of service
- delivers food promptly and professionally
- follows up periodically to assist with additional guest needs or requests
- demonstrates understanding of menu items and ingredients
- advises guests on appropriate combinations of food and drinks
- communicates directly with back-of-the-house staff to ensure correct order delivery
- collects tickets and follows proper cash-handling procedures
- promotes a clean, safe and neat environment
- maintains a high level of sensitivity and confidentiality regarding personal or medical information
- promptly addresses complaints or issues and relays directly to supervisor
- ensures dining room is properly set up prior to and after service periods
- operates various equipment including fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea/soda machines, soup wells and coffee machines
- works with staff from other departments during special events and functions
- performs other duties as assigned
