Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • availability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays
  • must have good communication and customer service skills
  • ability to stand for extended periods
  • must possess or be able to obtain a valid food handler’s permit
  • prior experience in food and beverage service preferred
  • ability to follow safety and sanitation protocols

Job Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license may be required
  • must possess or be able to obtain a valid food handler’s permit and/or alcohol servers’ permit where required by state law

Job Duties

  • Assembles and delivers all food and supplies for catered functions to their scheduled locations
  • logs and maintains food temperatures as needed
  • arranges chef tables with food, beverage and service items according to standards
  • serves food and beverages to guests
  • thoroughly cleans location after event is completed
  • returns food and beverages, serving equipment and utensils to assigned locations
  • ensures guests receive friendly, courteous service at all times
  • maintains clean and safe work environment
  • follows safety and sanitation policy and procedures at all times
  • promptly and warmly greets guests in the dining room
  • takes food and beverage orders efficiently, following established steps of service
  • delivers food promptly and professionally
  • follows up periodically to assist with additional guest needs or requests
  • demonstrates understanding of menu items and ingredients
  • advises guests on appropriate combinations of food and drinks
  • communicates directly with back-of-the-house staff to ensure correct order delivery
  • collects tickets and follows proper cash-handling procedures
  • promotes a clean, safe and neat environment
  • maintains a high level of sensitivity and confidentiality regarding personal or medical information
  • promptly addresses complaints or issues and relays directly to supervisor
  • ensures dining room is properly set up prior to and after service periods
  • operates various equipment including fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea/soda machines, soup wells and coffee machines
  • works with staff from other departments during special events and functions
  • performs other duties as assigned
