Job Requirements
- Completion of post-offer Occupational Health physical assessment, drug screen and background check including employment, criminal and education
- Ability to work night shifts including every other weekend
- Ability to perform physical tasks required for cleaning duties
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, staff and visitors
- Must follow safety procedures and department policies
- Must be reliable and punctual
Job Qualifications
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team without continuous supervision
- Ability to interpret and respond to verbal and written instructions
- Effective communication skills by phone and verbally
- Ability to read and understand material safety data sheets and instructions for mixing and use of cleaning chemicals
- Ability to fill out chemical identification stickers
- Previous related experience preferred
- Familiarity with environmental services equipment and cleaning techniques preferred
- Additional related education or experience preferred
Job Duties
- Perform a variety of assigned cleaning tasks including dusting, mopping, scrubbing, disinfecting, vacuuming and polishing according to departmental policy and procedures
- Plan the completion of cleaning tasks daily
- Empty hampers and transport soiled linen
- Empty trash containers and remove all trash including medical waste containers and sharps
- Inventory, restock and replenish supplies such as toilet tissue, paper towels, and hand soap
- Maintain cleanliness of departmental equipment and notify appropriate personnel of necessary repairs
- Perform special projects such as window washing, wall washing, and removing heavily soiled items or furnishings
- Respond to questions and requests from patients, staff and visitors
- Meet or exceed goals for customer service satisfaction
