Job Requirements

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to interpret and respond to verbal and written instructions
  • Effective communication skills both by phone and verbally
  • Ability to read and understand material safety data sheets and instructions for mixing and use of cleaning chemicals
  • Completion of post-offer occupational health physical assessment
  • Drug screen and background check including employment, criminal and education
  • Possession of Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card if working at specified Banner Behavioral Health locations
  • Willingness to work varied shifts including weekends and evenings

Job Qualifications

  • Effective communication skills by phone and verbally
  • Ability to interpret and respond to verbal and written instructions
  • Capable of reading and understanding material safety data sheets and chemical use instructions
  • Previous related experience with environmental services equipment and cleaning techniques preferred
  • Additional related education or experience preferred
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team without continuous supervision

Job Duties

  • Perform a variety of assigned cleaning tasks including dusting, mopping, scrubbing, disinfecting, vacuuming, and polishing according to departmental policy and procedures
  • Plan daily completion of cleaning tasks
  • Empty hampers and transport soiled linen
  • Empty trash containers and remove all trash including medical waste and sharps
  • Inventory, restock, and replenish supplies such as toilet tissue, paper towels, and hand soap in assigned areas
  • Maintain cleanliness of departmental equipment and report any repair needs
  • Protect equipment from damage and properly log usage
  • Perform special projects such as window washing, wall washing, and removing heavily soiled items
  • Respond to questions and requests from patients, staff, and visitors
  • Meet or exceed customer service satisfaction goals
  • Work under regular supervision with responsibility only at assigned facility or area
