Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • Prior experience in sports event management or related volunteer roles
  • Availability for full event duration February 1-8, 2026
  • Flexible schedule to accommodate event demands including evenings and weekends
  • Residence in or near Cleveland, Ohio
  • Ability to communicate clearly and handle logistical coordination
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and team leadership skills

Job Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a leadership, supervisory, or team management role preferably within a sports or event context
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Prior tennis experience preferred but not required
  • Ability to work long hours and demonstrate flexibility during the tournament week including weekends and evenings
  • Ability to work remotely part time prior to the event with availability for the full event duration
  • Willingness to work onsite in Cleveland, Ohio

Job Duties

  • Work with the Tournament Director to help recruit the necessary ballpersons
  • Manage the ballpersons on site including checking ballpersons in, uniform distribution, ensuring breaks, providing food and water, tracking hours
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the ballperson team addressing questions, concerns, and logistical needs
  • Liaise with tournament officials, chair umpires, players, and court staff to ensure a great experience
  • Foster a positive, organized, and professional environment for the ballperson team
