Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred
- Prior experience in sports event management or related volunteer roles
- Availability for full event duration February 1-8, 2026
- Flexible schedule to accommodate event demands including evenings and weekends
- Residence in or near Cleveland, Ohio
- Ability to communicate clearly and handle logistical coordination
- Strong problem-solving abilities and team leadership skills
Job Qualifications
- Previous experience in a leadership, supervisory, or team management role preferably within a sports or event context
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Prior tennis experience preferred but not required
- Ability to work long hours and demonstrate flexibility during the tournament week including weekends and evenings
- Ability to work remotely part time prior to the event with availability for the full event duration
- Willingness to work onsite in Cleveland, Ohio
Job Duties
- Work with the Tournament Director to help recruit the necessary ballpersons
- Manage the ballpersons on site including checking ballpersons in, uniform distribution, ensuring breaks, providing food and water, tracking hours
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the ballperson team addressing questions, concerns, and logistical needs
- Liaise with tournament officials, chair umpires, players, and court staff to ensure a great experience
- Foster a positive, organized, and professional environment for the ballperson team
